Despedidas de un no-encuentro

A street performance, structured around an improvisational work based on dramaturgical and compositional premises.

At the beginning of every movement, there is always a farewell—whether it be to the space left behind, to memories, to the person we once were, or to the people we shared time with. Society moves at a frantic pace, racing against time, but is there truly a destination? The journey is the destination. Throughout life, we experience countless farewells, moments of forgetting—some conscious, others not. This piece seeks to create a space of nostalgia, where we reclaim the memory of everything we leave behind in the relentless motion of our lives.

“Farewells of a Non-Encounter” is a journey-piece, a performance of travelers for travelers, observed by those who remain in their everyday space—an essential inaction and acknowledgment that allow the journey to exist. However, this journey is a non-journey, an unfolding in the present of the secrets of memory and the future of a group of early 20th-century travelers who never embarked on their voyage, trapped in the endless recreation of their memories, here and now, in the present from which both past and future emerge.
